The latest Vision Zero map is out and our Monterey Boulevard is now included as a high injury corridor. The area between Ridgewood and Edna streets are now eligible for more funding for traffic calming because, under the Vision Zero Program extra attention is focused on the thirteen percent of the streets that cause seventy five percent of the city’s serious injuries.
Other streets in the neighborhood with this distinction are San Jose Avenue, as well as Geneva and Ocean between Phelan and Mission.
Geneva and Ocean, by the way have shovel ready plans to finish the improvements that have already been completed between Manor and Phelan. All that is need is the funding.
